PLANT: Terrestrial tuberous herb.
To 50mm tall including lateral sepals.

LEAVES: Single. To 14mm x 14mm. Margins undulate. Green on top with scattered and recessed maroon glands, underside glistening, silvery.

FLOWER: Solitary. Dorsal sepal below or level with the leaf, green with a few maroon specks and a maroon leading edge. Lateral sepals erect, filiform, approx 22mm long, colourless with maroon strips. Petals horizontal, 15mm long, filiform, colourless with narrow maroon stripes. Labellum has deep maroon, parallel wings, to the forward margin, ragged around a deep cleft in the bib with no apiculus; pale protruding centre around the cleft channel to the column. Column chamber deep maroon with translucent stripes leading to the pollinia.

FLOWERING TIME: September.

HABITAT: Second growth native forest.

NOTES: Recorded from the Hunua Ranges to the east of Auckland.
