PLANT: Terrestrial tuberous herb.
Up to 13.5cm tall. Slender. Similar to Pterostylis graminea.

LEAVES: 3 - 4, spreading, upper leaf overtops the flower, linear, green V section with well defined midrib, each c.91 x 8mm.

FLOWER: Single. Tilts forward so that the tip of the dorsal sepal is about level with its base. Green with 4 translucent window stripes around the column. Labellum 8mm long, oblong, green under, near black on top.

FLOWERING TIME:
November - December.

HABITAT: Moss covered glacial moraine, and light shade in regenerating beech and kanuka.

CONSERVATION STATUS: Not Recorded.

NOTES: The status of this species is unclear. It has close affinities with Pterostylis graminea.
