PLANT: Terrestrial tuberous herb.
Up to 40cm high when in flower.

LEAVES: Single. Plain green with no flush of red. Edges overlap above bracts.

FLOWERS: Up to 10 flowers, often opening together. 2cm across. Mauve or blue in colour. Column pale mauve. Column tip projects forward as in Thelymitra malvina but is wider across. Column arms upturned and converging, with coarse white cilia on the ends.

FLOWERING TIME:
November - January.

HABITAT: Montane. Open Kanuka and Manuka scrub.

CONSERVATION STATUS: Not Recorded. Rare.

NOTES: Only known from the Kaweka Range. Possibly a sterile hybrid,
as it does not appear to set any seed.
