PLANT: Terrestrial tuberous herb.
Up to 60cm high when in flower. Robust. Stem often tinged with purple.

LEAVES: Single leaf. Wide and strap-like. Tinged with purple.

FLOWERS: 32 flowers recorded on one single plant. Flowers purplish blue. Column pale blue to white, top deep orange, deeply split dividing the tip into two distinct areas. Column arms with short tufts of white or mauve cilia.

October - November.

HABITAT: Open areas amongst scrub.

CONSERVATION STATUS: Not Recorded. Uncommon.

NOTES: An undescribed species very similar to Thelymitra pauciflora.
Differs in that the top of the column is bright orange rather than yellow,
and the flowers are more purplish in colour.
