PLANT: Terrestrial tuberous herb.
Up to 80cm tall when in flower. Robust.

LEAVES: Single, up to 30cm long by 1cm wide. Forms a flat "V" in cross section.

FLOWERS: Up to 10 flowers. 1.5cm across. Blue, lavender, or pink in colour, Dorsal sepal, petals and labellum striped dark blue. The striping on the lateral sepals is usually less prominent. Cilia is yellow, turning brown with age. White forms sometimes occur.

November - January.

HABITAT: Lowland to montane. Damp clay banks and scrub.

CONSERVATION STATUS: Not Threatened. Local and uncommon.

NOTES: A natural sterile hybrid between Thelymitra longifolia and Thelymitra pulchella. Usually found in the vicinity of these two parent species.
