Plant
To 30 cm or even 1 m tall on a slender stem. Leaves long and narrow, 5-15 cm x 5-10 mm, dark green glossy grass-like, channelled leaves that overtop a relatively small flower.
Flowers
Small 15-30 mm tall. Labellum greenish black, with few, widely spaced nerves. Tepals sometimes reddish tipped.
Flowering
September - October.
Habitat
Lowland to montane, light forest and scrub. Throughout.
Conservation
Common.
Notes
A highly variable species, several distinct forms seem to be present, some habitat related.
