Plant
To 15cm tall, leaf to 25 cm long but usually much smaller.
Flowers
1-3, greenish-yellow with maroon hairs on the outside of petals and sepals; maroon bars on the labellum. Midlobe strongly curled with two irregular rows of stout, warty, maroon-black calli to the tip and long dark marginal calli. Inner calli more scattered.
Flowering
September - December.
Habitat
Open scrub or forest; lowland to montane. Throughout the North Island and in the northern South Island
Conservation
Scattered localities, rarely numerous. A short flowering period of a week or so and scattered plants mean it is easily missed. Naturally uncommon, sparse.
Notes
Tall stem and long leaf notable when in bud.
