Plant
To 30cm tall, leaf to 15 cm long. Stem with: 1-4 flowers.
Flowers
Pale green except for the variable red barred labellum. Labellum with two rows of white or yellow topped calli; midlobe marginal calli numerous, some hooked. Petals and sepals acute.
Flowering
October-December.
Habitat
Lowland to subalpine scrub, well lit native or pine forest.
Conservation
Common in suitable habitat.
Notes
Lacks hairs on the dorsal sepal of others in the group. A very variable species; mutant plants with petaloid labella have been described as Caladenia saccata and C. calyciformis. Red stemmed plants seem to be a distinct species.
Key features
Pale greenish-white flowers with long lateral calli on the midlobe.
