Plant
Up to 70cm tall, with several long, stiff, pointed, channelled leaves, shorter than stem.
Flowers
2-12, green to maroon. Lateral sepals like thin horns, upright to diverging horizontally. Broad labellum bends forwards, 3-lobed, tip rounded. Floral bract short.
Flowering
November - January.
Habitat
Lowland: dry open banks and grassland. South to Nelson and Marlborough
Conservation
Often locally common, not threatened.
Notes
Colour and floral bract length variable among plants in the same population.
