Plant
To 10cm tall with a rosette of 2-4 broad oval yellow green leaves lengthening in maturity to 3-6cm x 15-25mm.
Flowers
Medium-sized 15cm tall. Labellum brownish, narrow-triangular, arched and protruding, apex subacute, inner surface covered with short, back pointing hairs giving an unusually furry appearance, stigma narrow oblong.
Flowering
November - December.
Habitat
Montane to alpine mossy forest, scrub and short grassland. Urewera southwards.
Conservation
Local, sometimes abundant, forming swathes.
Notes
Very like P. humilis, but has an oblong stigma (rather than the heart-shaped one of P. humilis) and slightly later flowering at similar sites.
